PEPPER STEAK
Ingredients:
2 Filet of Sirloin
1 tsp onion salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
3 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 cup warm water
2 tbsp. butter
4 large trimmed seeded red peppers, cut into rings
Preparation:
Slash edge of steak to keep from curling. In a bowl combine dry mustard, water, garlic salt and onion salt. Pierce holes in steak with a fork. Spread mixture on steak. Let stand for one hour. Brush hot grill with oil to prevent sticking. Place steak on grill 6 inches above hot coals. Grill until steak is done as desired, basting occasionally with marinade. While grilling steak, cook red pepper rings in butter in a frying pan until tender. Place on steak. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
STEAK SANDWICH
Ingredients:
1 Filet of Sirloin Steak, cut into strips
Onions, sliced
Green bell peppers, sliced
Mushrooms, sliced
Butter or olive oil
Worcestershire Sauce
Ground black pepper
Salt
American Cheese, sliced
2 slices of French bread
Preparation:
Sauté sliced onions, green pepper slices and/or sliced mushrooms in 1 1/2 tbsp. butter or olive oil.Push to one side of pan. Add steak and cook for 3 minutes. Turn steak; season with ground black pepper/salt to taste; or sprinkle cooked side with 1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce and ground black pepper to taste. Cook steaks 4 minutes more. Serve steak on French bread and top with sautéed vegetables, slice of American Cheese and melt under broiler.
FILET OF SIRLOIN WITH MUSHROOMS
Ingredients:
4 Filet of Sirloin
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 clove garlic
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Preparation:
Rub steaks with garlic. Sprinkle with half the salt and pepper. Score fatty edges of steaks. Place on broiling pan 3" from heat. Broil on one side to desired degree of doneness. Turn; season uncooked side with remaining salt and pepper. Return meat to broiler; cook to desired doneness. While steak is broiling, melt butter. Add mushrooms; sauté until golden brown and tender. Arrange steaks on serving platter; cover with sautéed mushrooms. 4 servings.
